Chicken & Portobello Sliders

Chopped portobello mushrooms and a hint of thyme make these grilled chicken burgers moist and flavorful.  Served on Whole Wheat buns or Whole Wheat Hoagies, these sandwiches are as tasty as they are fun.

  • 1.25 pound(s) ground chicken or turkey
  • 2 large portobello mushroom caps, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoon(s) chopped fresh thyme leaves
  • 2 tablespoon(s) Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 buns Wonder® Bread for Life – Whole Wheat Buns or Whole Wheat Hoagies
  • 12 small romaine lettuce leaves
  • 12 slice(s) thin red onion

Chicken & Portobello Sliders Directions

    1. Thoroughly mix the chicken, mushrooms, thyme and Worcestershire sauce in a large bowl.
    2. Shape the chicken mixture into 4 (3 1/2-inch) burgers.
    3. Lightly oil the grill rack and heat the grill to medium.
    4. Grill the burgers for 8 minutes or until cooked through, turning the burgers over once halfway through the grilling time.
    5. Place the burgers on the buns and top with the lettuce and onion.
